This course is for personnel processing and accepting goods presented as general cargo with a focus of preventing undeclared dangerous goods from being accepted into air transport and loaded on an aircraft. This course is aimed at freight forwarders, ground handling agents and operators.

7.2 (H.6.2) Personnel Responsible for Processing or Accepting Goods Presented as General Cargo

Description

The IATA Category 4 training course is designed for staff of freight forwarders involved in processing cargo or mail (other than dangerous goods). The training course can be undertaken in your own time at your own pace. The training course includes the following sections of the dangerous goods regulations:

  • General philosophy
  • Limitations
  • Labelling and marking
  • Shipper’s Declaration and other relevant documentation
  • Recognition of undeclared dangerous goods
  • Provisions for passengers and crew
  • Emergency procedures

The course consists of modules where students are required to complete a number of exercises achieving a score of at least 80%. Once the course is completed to a satisfactory level, students will be enrolled onto an online exam. Following successful completion of the examination, students will be issued with a training certificate valid for 24 months.
