7.10 (H.6.10) Personnel Responsible for the Screening of Passengers and Crew and their Baggage, Cargo and Mail

Description

The IATA Category 12 training course is designed for security staff who deal with the screening of passengers and crew and their baggage and cargo or mail, e.g. security screeners, their supervisors and staff involved in implementing security procedures. The training course can be undertaken in your own time at your own pace. The training course includes the following sections of the dangerous goods regulations:

  • General philosophy
  • Limitations
  • Classification
  • Labelling and marking
  • Recognition of undeclared dangerous goods
  • Provisions for passengers and crew
  • Emergency procedures

The course consists of modules where students are required to complete a number of exercises achieving a score of at least 80%. Once the course is completed to a satisfactory level, students will be enrolled onto an online exam. Following successful completion of the examination, students will be issued with a training certificate valid for 24 months.
