Lithium Battery Dangerous Goods Training

Lithium batteries are among the most heavily regulated items in air transport — and among the most commonly shipped. If your organisation sends lithium ion or lithium metal batteries by air, whether on their own, packed with equipment, or contained in equipment, specific training is mandatory.

Our lithium battery training courses cover the full scope of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations applicable to battery shipments, including:

– The relevant packing instructions (PI 965–970 for lithium ion, PI 968–970 for lithium metal)
– The distinction between Section I, Section IA, Section IB, and Section II shipments
– State of charge limits, the UN 38.3 test requirement, and special provisions for damaged or defective batteries
– Correct marking, labelling, and documentation — including the lithium battery handling label and the Shipper’s Declaration
– Sodium ion battery provisions under the latest IATA DGR

Courses are available for initial certification and revalidation. Each is CAA approved and delivered online with remote invigilation — meaning your staff can train and sit their examination without leaving their workplace.
