Shipper Dangerous Goods Training

Shippers — sometimes called consignors — have the primary responsibility for ensuring dangerous goods are correctly prepared for air transport. This includes classification, packaging, marking, labelling, and completing the Shipper’s Declaration. Errors at the shipper stage cascade through the entire supply chain, causing delays, rejections, and in the worst cases, safety hazards.

Our shipper training courses cover the full scope of IATA DGR requirements for Categories 1 and 2 personnel. Depending on the course selected, learners will develop competence in:

– Classifying substances and articles against the nine hazard classes
– Determining the correct UN number, proper shipping name, and packing group
– Selecting appropriate packaging using the IATA packing instructions
– Applying marks and labels correctly — including hazard labels, handling labels, and lithium battery marks
– Completing a Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods without errors
– Understanding state and operator variations that may affect the shipment

Courses are available for general dangerous goods shippers and for those who only ship lithium batteries. Both initial and revalidation options are offered. All are CAA approved and delivered online with remote invigilation.
