Operator Dangerous Goods Training

Aircraft operators — airlines and cargo carriers — are the final link in the dangerous goods supply chain. They accept consignments from freight forwarders and ground handlers, verify that acceptance checks have been completed, and ensure dangerous goods are loaded, segregated, and stowed correctly for flight. An operator that boards a non-compliant consignment is legally responsible for that shipment once the aircraft doors close, and the consequences of an in-flight dangerous goods incident can be catastrophic.

Training for operator personnel covers the full range of IATA DGR functions relevant to airline operations — from accepting and processing dangerous goods consignments through to planning and supervising aircraft loading. Our operator courses address:

– Verifying that acceptance procedures have been correctly applied before dangerous goods are loaded
– Understanding segregation requirements and aircraft stowage restrictions for different hazard classes
– Reviewing the NOTOC (Notification to Captain) for accuracy and completeness
