Correct packaging is the foundation of safe dangerous goods transport. A properly classified substance in the wrong packaging is a non-compliant shipment — and a real safety risk. Packers must understand the packaging instructions that apply to each consignment and the performance standards those packages must meet.
Our packer training courses are designed for Category 3 personnel who physically prepare dangerous goods for air transport. Training covers:
– Selecting the correct UN specification packaging for the substance and quantity
– Understanding packing instructions and how to apply them
– Assembling combination packaging correctly — inner packaging, absorbent material, outer packaging
– Applying the correct marks and labels to the completed package
– Overpack requirements and when additional marking is needed
– The relationship between packaging and segregation during transport
The course is CAA approved and delivered online, allowing packers to train at their own pace and take the examination from their workplace.
To celebrate being awarded the IATA Competency Training & Assessment Centre accreditation, we are offering a 10% discount off all our dangerous goods by air training courses.
